Love is not only light.
It is also the room
where shadows learn your name.
It is the quiet place
where two souls sit together
with their hidden storms.
Your light found my darkness
before I could hide it.
Not the bright parts
I show the world
But the trembling corners
where old fears breathe
and memories whisper.
Still, you stayed.
Like a small flame
that does not chase away the night
but teaches it
How to glow.
And I saw something then
How darkness is not the enemy
of light.
Without the night
The stars would have no voice.
Without sorrow
Love would never learn
how deep it can grow.
So we became
a strange kind of sunrise.
Your light
touching my shadows.
My darkness
holding your fire.
And somewhere between them
our two restless souls
found a place
bright enough to hope
and dark enough
To be honest.
Perhaps this is what love is
not escaping the night,
but learning
to carry the light
together.
