You said you knew everything
I wonder what you missed, still I stayed.
You called it understanding,
I called it a wound you kissed, still I stayed.
You turned away from the world
as if detachment were power
I saw loneliness persist, still I stayed.
You spoke of truth like fire,
burning illusions to ash,
but who held you in the midst? Still, I stayed.
You said nothing changes
even when we know it all,
then why did your silence twist? Still, I stayed.
You walked away from desire
like it was beneath you
I saw your heart resist, still I stayed.
You made peace with emptiness,
called it wisdom, called it calm,
but I felt something amiss; still, I stayed.
And now you ask nothing,
not even from yourself.
Tell me, was it worth this? Still, I stayed.
You knew, you understood,
You detached, you endured
But you never learned
how to be loved,
and that
Was the truth you missed?
Still, I stayed.
