In a whole conference call

In a whole conference call,
I pinned you like a snow’s ball
I listened to your melodious voice,
and still, wish for listening to it twice

Somewhere you were smiling like a flower
Your inner peace was appearing as a blushing shower
I always tell you, about your light smile
which pushes my patience miles

There were lots of smiles, I was confused for while!
and started to think that ‘ I haven’t any file!
I heard you many times, but online,
How I can hear you and feel offline?

But the feeling is that kind of attachment,
which doesn’t want any segment
after all, I collected your every smile
with beautiful expressions with profiles

number of smily poses you gave me there,
I promise I’ll not spread it and share
I never stop my missives, even if I can’t
but finally, that smile I got, which I want

Sofiya Shaikh, lovingly known as Sofi-sRm, is a soulful poet and a passionate writer. A science student at Abeda Inamdar Junior College for Girls, she is the daughter of Mr. Aslam Shaikh and a true artist at heart. She beautifully expresses herself through Hindi and Urdu poems and ghazals, often writing about love, silence, pain, and inner reflection. For her, poetry is more than just words—it’s a way to heal, observe, and connect. When not writing, she finds peace in spending quiet moments with plants. Sofiya recently published her debut poetry collection, "Lafz-e-Raaz", a heartfelt book featuring 85+ original poems and ghazals that capture the depth of her emotions and voice. Whether through ink or silence, Sofiya writes with sincerity and softness—touching hearts one verse at a time.
