The Roots Beneath Me

It’s scary
The realization that the roots
Which once was a support that nourished me
With hopes and dreams, to become the best version I could possibly be

It really anchored the pain of betrayal,
Worthlessness, self-destruction
Within me

The roots beneath me
They never understood
Too comfortable
Huddled between the masses
Blinded beneath the truth

Now able to cut them off
I’m still covered with scars
My daily reminder that the decision
Letting go of life wasn’t crazy at all,
It was right!

It’s scary
The realization that the roots
Which once was a support that nourished me
With hopes and dreams, to become the best version I could possibly be……
